Movement Principles: Jan 10-11, 2026
Intermediate/Advanced Exercises
This class is a prerequisite for all Pilates coursework
Movement Principles is the essential first step in the Balanced Body education pathway. It provides a strong foundation in movement analysis, biomechanics, and cueing—skills that support confident, effective teaching. This course is required for all Balanced Body Pilates training, no matter your background or experience, and offers a shared framework and lens for understanding the Pilates system. It introduces Pre-Pilates exercises that prepare the body for the next level of the Pilates curriculum and can be used as an introduction to the Pilates system on the mat or other equipment, supporting work with special populations such as rehabilitation, active aging, osteoporosis, and pregnancy.
Online Movement Principles Supplies:
Pilates mat
Foam roller (full length)
Pilates ball (8–10 inches)
Togu Ball (20 inches) (optional but recommended)
Theraband (preferably 6 feet long)
Rolled-up hand towel or large car sponge
A device with a working camera (the camera must remain on for the entire class)

Packed with detailed exercise descriptions, high-quality photographs, and clear cueing tips, these manuals are a required purchase for all Balanced Body® courses and the perfect companions to your in-person or online training.
