Advanced Movement Principles-The Lower Body
The lower body is the center of strength, endurance, and functional movement. When misalignments or injuries in the hip, knee, ankle or foot are present, we lose ease, economy and efficiency. This course includes 18 hours of in person instruction and 10 hours of video material and upon completion you will come away with a structured plan for assessing lower body alignment, myofascial balance and functional abilities and a clear understanding of exercise progressions to improve performance and minimize injuries.
Advanced Movement Principles is a continuing education course for the experienced Pilates professional working with clients with imbalances, misalignments and injuries. Using both video on demand and live course work, this program will uplevel your skills in seeing, understanding, and improving movement patterns for clients at any level of ability. Upon completion you will receive recognition as a Balanced Body Advanced Movement Practitioner.

Course structure
Advanced Movement Principles is designed as a blended course with theoretical material including anatomy, movement principles and information on pathologies delivered in video format and practical information including assessment, observation, exercises, and program design delivered in person. The video courses are designed to prepare students for the in-person classes by providing essential background information. They are organized in short (10 – 40 minute) segments followed by quizzes and include a detailed, downloadable PowerPoint to support your learning process.
Advanced Movement Principles consists of three live courses (The Low back, Upper body, Lower Body) and seven video on demand courses organized into five modules.
To gain recognition as a Balanced Body Advanced Movement Practitioner all the video and in-person courses must be successfully completed along with three case studies.
