Training is offered in-studio in beautiful Victoria, BC, or online for added flexibility and accessibility. You can pay for courses individually at your own pace or save by bundling your training for a more comprehensive experience.

Movement Principles: Pre-Pilates Exercise

Movement Principles is the essential first step in the Balanced Body education pathway. It provides a strong foundation in movement analysis, biomechanics, and cueing—skills that support confident, effective teaching. This course is required for all Balanced Body Pilates training, no matter your background or experience, and offers a shared framework and lens for understanding the Pilates system. It introduces Pre-Pilates exercises that prepare the body for the next level of the Pilates curriculum and can be used as an introduction to the Pilates system on the mat or other equipment, supporting work with special populations such as rehabilitation, active aging, osteoporosis, and pregnancy.
Each course comes with everything you need to support your learning: a full-colour digital Balanced Body® manual and lifetime access to video tutorials. The manual provides clear exercise descriptions, photos, and cueing tips, while the videos allow you to review each exercise at any time to deepen your understanding and build confidence.
Online Movement Principles required equipment:
Pilates mat
Foam roller (full length)
Pilates ball (8–10 inches)
Togu Ball (20 inches) (optional but recommended)
Theraband (preferably 6 feet long)
Rolled-up hand towel or large car sponge
A device with a working camera (the camera must remain on for the entire class)

Reformer 1: Introduction to the Reformer & Beginning Exercises

This course introduces the Universal Reformer, the centrepiece of the Pilates equipment studio and an invaluable training tool. Reformer 1 includes an introduction to safely using the Pilates Reformer for a wide variety of supine, seated and standing exercises for the beginning to intermediate student. Movement Principles include improving lower body alignment, creating balanced muscle development and learning a protocol for effectively training the upper body. Anatomy is required prior to testing out.
Each course comes with everything you need to support your learning: a full-colour digital Balanced Body® manual and lifetime access to video tutorials. The manual provides clear exercise descriptions, photos, and cueing tips, while the videos allow you to review each exercise at any time to deepen your understanding and build confidence.
Online Reformer 1 required equipment:
A Reformer for the duration of the course, including a sitting box and Jumpboard
Pilates ball (8–10 inches)
Rolled-up hand towel or large car sponge
A device with a working camera (the camera must remain on for the entire class)

Reformer 2: Intermediate Exercises

Reformer 2 expands the potential of the Reformer with intermediate and advanced exercises and modifications along with programs designs for special populations including pre–and post–natal clients and clients with osteoporosis and lower back injuries. Class design, dynamic assessment and correcting common dysfunctional movement patterns are also included.

The manual provides clear exercise descriptions, photos, and cueing tips, while the videos allow you to review each exercise at any time to deepen your understanding and build confidence.

Reformer 3: Advanced Exercises & Programming

Reformer 3 is the pinnacle of the Reformer work and includes advanced and super advanced exercises to challenge clients to achieve their best. Progressive sequences designed to teach students advanced movement skills are included along with an introduction to the revolutionary Principle-Based Programming System, helping you to create successful classes for clients at any level.

Reformer Intensive

Our Reformer Certification Intensive is an immersive, in-person training designed for those who want to complete their Reformer education in a focused, condensed format. This intensive includes Movement Principles and Reformer 1, 2, and 3, allowing you to move through the full Reformer curriculum in a cohesive and integrated way.
Offered exclusively in person in beautiful Victoria, BC, this format supports hands-on learning, precise cueing, and real-time feedback. Moving through the material over consecutive days allows concepts to build naturally, techniques to refine, and confidence to develop through consistent practice, observation, and teaching.
You’ll work closely with experienced educators in a small-group setting, with dedicated time for practice teaching, discussion, and deeper exploration of the Reformer system. The immersive nature of the intensive creates strong continuity across levels and supports a clear, embodied understanding of the work.
By the end of the intensive, you will have completed the full Balanced Body Reformer curriculum and be well on your way toward certification.
Students receive 4 full-colour digital Balanced Body® manuals along with lifetime access to video tutorials, so you can review exercises anytime to deepen your understanding and build confidence.
